"It’s a nicely restrained, understated wine." - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za (91/100)
Pale light red, like shimmering pomegranate pips. A perfumed nose of dried roses, bitter cherry, musk, and spice box introduce further darker brooding plum, wild strawberry and incense. The palate is surprisingly rich fruited, dark berries with notes of tilled earth leading on to some meaty and savoury notes. Autumn like on the palate with notes of forest floor and an undertow of volcanic minerality. Complex, youthful with lots of energy and layers of smoked meat lifted by crushed dried cherry and a salty, yet cool and elegant send-off.
Blend: 43% Grenache Noir, 43% Shiraz and 14% Cinsault
