Collection: Wine

As newbies, we planted Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir on the hill as you enter the farm. It would look good and our neighbours would buy the grapes and partially pay us in kind. With time we learnt more about our valley and its potential, our farm and its potential and challenges. Someone gave us a bottle of Grenache/Shiraz. We were intrigued. In 2012 we planted the first dryland bush vine Grenache in Botrivier. Other varieties followed: Chenin blanc, Grenache blanc, Rousanne, Marsanne, Shiraz and Cinsaut. 

The Sauvignon and Pinot are still there and looking good, but we make our wine from the rest. Quintus, our farm manager, has learnt to deal with the challenges of dryland vineyards, and Marelise, our winemaker, makes amazing wines in our own primitive little cellar.
